Bonus question / How much bitcoin will be worth the week before the CBDC is issued.
I am more convinced that the future of bitcoin in the United States is uncertain because it is in the hands of the next president of the country. When you observe closer from both sides, there's more alignment to the adoption of bitcoin when Trump emerges this position as the president than Kamala
I agree with your thoughts on this. Bitcoin have a good chance of making higher grounds under Donald Trump than Kamala who I think recent bought into the idea of embracing bitcoin into her campaign promises because she sees doing so as a way to attract the cryptocurrency community to her side in the election.
The whole contention is that bitcoin is here to eliminate fiat from the face of the earth I am not sure that's what bitcoin was created to do but rather as an alternative for those who seek alternative source for financial freedom and privacy. CBDC can co-exist along side bitcoin and the market is large enough for both digital currencies as it all depends on individual preferences about which currency actually meet their needs much better.
I also think Trump would be better for Bitcoin than Harris. But if you think that if Harris wins and the future of Bitcoin in the US becomes uncertain then that is an unfounded worry. As we see, under Biden, Bitcoin is still doing very well and the US market is still central to the crypto industry. So even if Harris is elected, even if she doesn't appear friendly to it, she won't be able to make the US fall behind the rest of the world in the crypto space.
Bitcoin would be fine if Harris wins but much better if Trump wins, that's the difference.
Honestly, I never thought and believed that bitcoin has enough power to make fiat money disappear because this world belongs to the government, they are still the ones who control us. They are the ones who decide what should and should not exist in this world, bitcoin cannot decide its own fate without their consent.
Also, bitcoin is being used by us as an asset, an investment and that's what it will become in the future, so I don't think there will be any competition if the government issues a CBDC.
