A little bit derailing the discussion in this thread but I guess we differ in opinions a little when comes to trading and what is actually degenerate in terms of money management, to each their own I guess. Some people will tell you holding is degenerate because it is a form of speculation, while at the same time there will be people who will tell you all sorts of gambling are degenerate because it only relies on chance for one to get profit or not.
In my personal point of view trading is not necessarily degenerate, it another form of speculation but in a way shorter term than holding, obviously.

If you find hard enough though, you will find people who are conservative enough to say anything beyond keeping cash and silver coins under ones mattress is risky and actual degenerate.
