Sri Lanka is looking very strong at the moment. They are 306/3 at the end of first day's play with Angelo Mathews and Kamindu Mendis at the crease. New Zealand has failed to overcome their weakness in sub-continental conditions. William O’Rourke and Ajaz Patel performed decently in the first match, but they failed this time. A lot was expected from Mitchell Santner and Glenn Phillips as well, but they also failed to take wickets. Maybe the New Zealand captain need to use Rachin Ravindra more frequently in these spin-friendly conditions.
After the end of day 2 Srilanka is a very strong side because they get 2 wickets at the end of the day and hope so they will get a couple more wickets earlier in day 3 Session 1. But you will surely appreciate the batting done by the batters of Sri Lanka.
NZ also has a big name in their batting line which turns the game single-handedly but its a very tough job to do so at the home ground of Sri Lanka.
