Ronaldo's arrival to Al Nassr triggered other big teams to transfer market the best player in Europe as well, and it is a positive response where the Arab league is getting popular because of it, this arrival is a form of confidence and the team to increase it, yes we might consider that Ronaldo's arrival made Al Nassr very in the first time, also followed by Mane.
Al Ittihad and Al Hillal are also not silent, I salute their courage in paying their players, the arena is above the average salary.
BTW currently Al Nassr is competing against Al Wahda, and Al Nassr is temporarily leading this match with 1-0 scored by Angelo Gabriel, the first half is almost over, the victory may be able to get Al Nassr.
To me it looks as if they had their peak in popularity already. I remember when they signed the wave of new players when it all started with Ronaldo. That was pretty huge because all eyes were on the league, but if you had to judge whether the buzz is still the same as it used to be like a year or 1.5 years ago, that is not the case. Now they have all these overpaid players while the interest in the league seems to be decreasing. The really big talents usually want to stay in Europe. I don't know it was true that they offered Mbappe 700 million dollars, but you can see that those who want to have a great career wouldn't go to Saudi Arabia. You can't just teleport the best football environment with money from one place to another.
It surely makes the league a bit more interesting (or quite a bit), but I guess they were hoping for some snowball effect that keeps going and going. Now I expect them to become more active once again when the World Cup 2034 comes closer. I think they plan to host that one? At least if nothing unexpected happens as they were the only nation to submit a bid. But imagine how much it would cost them if they were trying to continue with the same level of investment every single year.
The Saudi League has spent almost a billion on player transfers and is second only to the Premier League. But imagine how much more revenue the Premier League generates. I don't believe this is sustainable.
