Liverpool are now top of the Premier League table. For the first time in four seasons, I’m beginning to have doubts that Manchester City will win the league. Injuries have not been kind to City, it will be a long time before they can get a replacement for Rodri, before then the damage may already be done. Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea are looking very good this season and one of them are likely to win the title this season.
Before this round, City were favourites with odds of around 2.4 and Arsenal were just behind at 2.5. But Liverpool were priced very poorly (6.50), Chelsea even worse (26.0). Tomorrow the last game of this round will be played and bookmakers will update the odds for the title. It is very likely that City will no longer be favourites and may even fall to third place.
I am quite pleased. And I am also pleased that Ten Hag's dismissal is apparently inevitable.
Nothing surprises. City faced a setback in their game against Newcastle. Their opponents fully farmed three points. It's really changing the odds a lot for the winner. But, I guess, the outright is always changing. It will until we're closer to the late season. The same situation may be happening again.
City was unfavored until mid-season. But, they regained their top spot by season's end. Surprisingly, Chelsea is slowly but surely trying to enter into the title race too. It's probably we will have 4 teams to compete for the title.
