Investors might choose these cryptocurrencies for various reasons, such as:

Market Position: Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and often referred to as "digital gold," while Ethereum introduced smart contracts, expanding blockchain potential.
Community and Support: Both have large communities and extensive resources for learning and support.

I actually got myself exposed to the technicalities/technical aspect of Bitcoin, even before making any investment. I think with my so much interest on how Bitcoin works, I have found it very difficult to consider other cryptocurrencies as investment options. So, Bitcoin is actually my first crypto investment, and I don't really see myself doing anything outside that for the now. Maybe things might change in the future, but for now, I am still very much comfortable with Bitcoin as my investment first and currently still my investment option.

Potential for Growth: Many see these as having long-term growth potential compared to newer, less established cryptocurrencies.

Potential growth?, From what I have seen so far, Bitcoin is far flexible. It's up and down movement is clearly more flexible than that of Ethereum. You know, sometimes, I actually sit down and just look at a live Bitcoin chart for few minutes, and observe how the price goes up and down consistently(without the intent to studying about the charts). I really don't want to say much about others, but I think Bitcoin is more flexible.
