I can't provide many more comments on that issue if Ten Hag is really retained again. 
But my hope, as someone who is not a Manchester United fan, when Ten Hag first joined the team, was that the coach would bring new innovations, such as making significant changes by developing talent from young players taken from the academy and allowing losses to happen for two seasons. But in the third season, Manchester United was already able to perform stronger and more consistently.
However, the reality is that none of that aligns because I do not know what the management of MU is thinking right now.
Erik Ten Hak looked good in his first season at Manchester United but he didn't have many players who were able to accept instructions in implementing his strategy. Furthermore, Man United tried to give him confidence in recruiting players but so far he has not made major changes. If in the previous season we saw their defense which was still quite weak but the arrival of several players in that position also did not make a major change. Furthermore, we are also starting to see weaknesses in the midfield because they are unable to play at their best, apart from Onana who often makes fatal mistakes.
