Andres Iniesta for many years has given us entertaining and thrilling moments in football. Iniesta did not just play beautiful football but he also spread happiness and joy through sports. I wish him well as he embarks on a new journey through this phase of life, he will definitely be missed on the pitch and as a Barcelona legend. Some of his teammates and peers have transitioned to managers, hopefully we will see him again on the football field as a manager.
I had no idea Andres Iniesta was still playing professional football. I thought he had retired and gone into other fields. He has had a long and fruitful career, particularly at Barcelona and with the Spanish national team. His decision to retire was motivated by a lack of interest from any club after his contract with Emirates Club expired in July. He had been keeping fit in Dubai, hoping to get an offer, but decided to retire because no offer was coming. Perhaps he will pursue a coaching career or a position as a sports commentator. Retirement provides an opportunity to spend more time with family and friends. Congratulations to a football legend on his retirement.
