Just as a side note, the Avalon Nano has a web interface just for firmware updates at: http://<your ip>:9090

Also, if you want to control your Avalon Nano from the command line, I just made a tool for that... I have several around the house to help heat the bedrooms, and with it I am able to automate power changes through out the day, based on the production of my solar panels, and at night switch off the led for kids to sleep.
