The thread starter should be aware that their post was deleted, even if they do not get a system message to that effect, if they do not notice that a whole thread they created can no longer be accessed they will not notice it getting moved to a separate board or locking it for a while.
If others do not see that type of post anywhere on a board, that should be a pointer not to make similar posts.
