It’s unfortunate, but hopefully, the government will step up with aggressive awareness campaigns and information sharing. We can’t deny that a lot of people still lack knowledge about these issues, thinking they’re genuine when, in fact, they’re just scams.
The government has already done its part, but we can't just rely on them for everything. We need to do our own research to protect ourselves from scams. Scams are very common, and those who fall victim are often unaware of the types of scams and how technology is being used to deceive people. If we know how to use the internet, a quick search on Google can reveal stories and information to help us avoid these traps. Authorities can provide warnings, but they can’t spoon-feed us all the important details, we need to put in our own effort too. And since older people aren’t as tech-savvy, as the younger generation, we can start by educating our families about these risks.
