Initially I thought that this was an easy game for Leverkusen because they were playing against a team that had a very bad start to the season at the bottom of the table and they were playing at home, there was no doubt that they would take full points in this game to overtake Frankfurt in second place, but it turned out to be the same result as when they played against Bayern Munich last week, sharing points might not be too bad but the problem is that they played against a weak team and also played at home so can this be interpreted as an indication of a decline in performance? it is still possible, and on the other hand on the same day we also saw Dortmund who ended their game with a disappointing result against Union Berlin, I think that everything that seems too easy to get still has the potential to disappoint.
After Victor Boniface and J. Hofmann scored inside the first 8 minutes of the German Bundesliga game between Bayer Leverkusen and Holstein Kiel, I also thought it was going to be an easy ride for them but surprisingly, they allowed a winless Holstein Kiel to come back and get a draw. Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso have been exceptional this season with his tactical approaches but I think he got this very one wrong. If Bayern Munich wins their own league game, they'll extend their lead ahead of Leverkusen with a bigger margin and that might be a big mountain to climb for Bayer Leverkusen.
Leverkusen started the game so well and scored two early goals that alone is enough confidence for anyone to believe that they have already won the game even though they are in a better form to win anyways but they once again disappointed us after praying another draw after settling for a 1:1 draw against their rival Bayern Munich last weekend.
This is the very moment where I think Leverkusen coach needs to step up his defense because it seems his team is scoring as well as conceding the same number of goals in the league matches making every team to have the confidence of playing them comfortably.
Bayern Munich is already 2 points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen in the league if they are able to secure victory against Eintracht Frankfurt in their game from away tomorrow they will be 4 points ahead of Leverkusen which will be difficult for them to catch up unless they improve their performance and Bayern Munich drop points.
