At the beginning of the year, there were those who said that Lewandowski should leave his team. However, Lewandowski is showing us this year that age does not matter. He is performing wonderfully. There are not many players who play this well at this age. The Polish striker is performing extra for Barcelona. I enjoy watching Barcelona this year. They are showing a better image than last year.
Lewandowski has scored eleven goals this season. Seven in the La Liga and two in the Champions League. I was among the people who protested why Barca was considering signing him. I was concerned about his age and his ability to compete with young defenders. But the Polish international has proved many critics wrong. He has not lost his clinical finishing skills and the club is now benefitting from him.

It was a compulsory win for Barcelona so that they can still maintain the point gap that they are using to lead Real Madrid who is also after taking over the first position from Barcelona if they mistakenly lose any of their upfront matches. I didn't watch the second half, and I was expecting to see more goals, but it turned out to be a goalless second half.

There is enough time for these two clubs to show their superiority over the other but if none of them want to drop points, El Classico will determine who is the strongest.
Barcelona is now leading the table with three points. Real Madrid has found themselves behind Barca which is unexpected considering the quality of players Los Blancos has in the team. But the league is still fresh and Barca would have to be consistent if they want to become La Liga champions. Hansi Flick is doing a good job in his first season handling the club.
