Marseille seems to be getting worse and worse, these are not acceptable results, not against these teams at least. I doubt they will go back to last years position, they will finish better than last year, but they are not going to finish that high, not at top three if they keep this up. That's the most important part, fourth place goes to UCL qualifiers and that is worst they can do, anything lower than that and they spent money for nothing, it wouldn't be worth it at all to be just in Europa league, they could do that with less money, it wouldn't be profitable. And if they get these results a few more times then top four would be a pipe dream for them. They need to recover and fix whatever is wrong and win some games.
Marseille are like a team that has run out of steam, they started smoothly, but now they have started to lose points in two consecutive matches. As a result, Marseille are now five points behind AS Monaco at the top of the standings, it seems they have failed to meet expectations to compete closely with PSG this season. It is indeed too early to talk about it, where the season is still very long, but losing points from a team in the relegation zone has raised concerns. The match which was marked by red cards for both teams, made the course of the match limping, so that Marseille failed to secure full points this week.

The budget that has been spent by Marseille is quite large, they should be able to create better consistency, and finish in a better place this season. By only focusing on domestic competitions, De Zerbi task is relatively easier. The international break gives De Zerbi the opportunity to evaluate his team shortcomings, so that in the future they can rise and continue to pressure PSG and AS Monaco.

I have said before, what we are looking at is their long-term performance and not just a few games. Previously Marseille played so well, they were the second most productive team after Paris Saint-Germain. It can be said that Marseille are not too bad in their defense. They only conceded 8 goals, 3 of the goals Marseille conceded were created in two games when their players received red cards. Marseille should not have lost points to Angers, but their pure striker got a red card. As a result, they lost a player who was the Target Man. Greenwood who was productive in the first 3 games, in the next 4 games he no longer scored a goal. Although, his performance can still be said to be quite good. As you said, Marseille should have been able to create better consistency. But it turns out, they have to work harder to be able to produce full points in each game. So, De Zerbi has a job to evaluate and fix his team. even so, Marseille is still in 3rd place in Lique 1. this competition is still long, De Zerbi can fix his team to be much better. at least, as I often say finishing in the top four of Lique 1 is much better than those who were previously slumped. moreover, if Marseille is able to become runner up. the journey is still long, let's say Marseille can compete with Monaco. on condition, they must be consistent.
