For strikers, it is mainly all about the goals and assists. A striker who fails to score will not be highly regarded. Some critics of Robert Lewandowski claim that he cannot create his chance and only score cheap goals. But some so many young strikers waste opportunities and a good example is Nicolas Jackson. Robert is contributing immensely to the success of Barca and nobody can doubt it.
Mbappe might be skilful and have some exceptional quality, but because he is not scoring goals, fans have started complaining about his performance. Everyone thought that his presence in Madrid would bring more goals, but this has not been the case. I agree that he needs time to get used to the playing style in Spain, but he needs to improve fast because Madrid has quality players who can take his place.
Lewandowski leads the top scorer standings until week 9 so far. He is still very productive as a center forward, but of course because he is supported by other players of good quality. Raphinha and Lamine Yamal are Lewandowski's two best partners this season, both players have provided assists quite often so far.
In the last three matches I saw that Hansi Flick had a good approach to several of his main players. He did not play Lamine Yamal and several other main players for up to 90 minutes, meaning rotation is being attempted. In the match against Osasuna, Flick also rotated, but his plan failed. The next match is against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, of course it will be interesting to wait for one of those great matches, but before that Barcelona has to play a match against Sevilla.
