It seems like the loss of Klay Thompson wasn’t felt by the Warriors at all.
In their preseason game against the Kings, Hield showed off his 3-point accuracy, hitting 6 of 7 and leading the team in scoring. If he can keep that up in the regular season, the Warriors are still a dangerous team, and who knows, they might find themselves back in the NBA Finals again.

I doubt though that the Warriors will be dangerous. Sure they still have some quality but most of the quality players are aging fast right now and a season is very long. 1 key injury and the Warriors can consider things and think about next summer's draft.

I think they got Hield not as a replacement to Klay, two different players and we can't really compare them. Both could have their strength and weaknesses. But for sure the Warriors are expecting something big from Hield and hopefully he will provide something for the Warriors.
But as you have said, they are also aging, and teams in the West are upgrading their roster as well. So worst case for them, we might see them in the cellar, as far as standing goes, and then fighting for a spot in the playoff.
