Leipzig of this current champions league are not the Leipzig I used to know from the previous champions leagues,they are not performing very well this time around and they are making it obvious even in Bundesliga they have a lot of draws even though they have some wins , the draws were not what I was expecting from them...
At the same time looking their unsatisfactory performance, I can still some effort channelled into UCL than Bundesliga , they lost to zero in Bundesliga but in UCL there are some goals attached to their winning and so far they being playing big clubs though I didn't expect Juventus to have it so easy despite their effort for that game. They don't make it that far actually in UCL but they always give tough time to clubs guess that's not gonna happen this time around
Just maybe they aren't in their best form just yet and probably before the end of the season they will be in their best form to be able to get better but the challenge is they are playing in the champions league that is very competitive with their very little experience and not them been so experienced enough to be bale to handle the champions league to the point of becoming top contenders, it will be better they focus more on their domestic league as they will be able to do even more that way than they would have done and just get experience from the UCL.
Leipzig is actually a strong club in the Bundesliga but in the Champions League its performance is different, it tends to have difficulty competing with its opponents in the Champions League even though it always gets tickets to play in the Champions League every season but it seems like it doesn't have the strength to go further and often it stops in the last 16 or the last 8 and sometimes it only reaches the group stage and is finally relegated to the European league there too he also didn't play optimally, especially this season the competition is no longer a group he has to face several matches that are more difficult than the group stage so I think this season he can't qualify for the last 16 if he is not really serious about facing the UCL match.
