~~ Snip ~~

Firstly when I think of this deal I actually want to curse the then board of directors at Barcelona, they were the ones that actually put the club in this current financial mess today. De Jong sitting on a weekly $600k is absolutely a joke to me coupled the fact that it was a long term deal is absurd. Yes we all know how super talented he was but he is just been so unlucky due to injuries and that I can’t blame him for. Over the past three seasons I can remember Barcelona have been trying to get him off their wage book with Ten Hag arriving at Manchester United and wanted the player but the player opted against the move.

In as much  as I see him trying to actually prove himself by all means at Barcelona I think some love stories have to just end and everyone go their separate ways to find peace, this lad could actually see his injury going away by switching clubs but he doesn’t wants to leave and the club cannot do anything because he is contracted to them and selling him off will mean he will be paid his balance base on the contract agreed with a new club which is a big problem at the moment for Barcelona because no buyer is actually coming to pay that ridiculous wage load for an injury prone even though talented

I know that. De Jong is a very talented player, but the amount of his injuries has already ruined his career, and that's wild. Barcelona was hoping they could bring back their glory days by bringing him to the club. But, in reality, they don't meet their expectation.

I hope they can sell him once he finishes with his injuries. They can allocate the weekly salary received by him to bring a talented player, such as Nico Williams. And a speedy recovery for him soon.
Almost every season De Jong has been injured, his talent has been drowned out by being in the treatment room too often. Referring to the transfermarkt site, De Jong has missed quite a few matches, including missing matches with the Dutch national team. His weekly wages are quite high at Barcelona, but his contribution to the club has never been maximized for a full season. With a long history of injuries, Barcelona will find it difficult to cash in on him, even though De Jong has said he wants to stay for a long time.

His market value continues to decline due to rarely playing, and De Jong has only played for 24 minutes this season. De Jong is still under contract until June 2026, and it seems that Barcelona will try to encourage the player to find a new club. Regarding Nico Williams, Barcelona needs a large budget to be able to recruit him from Bilbao.
