So for this particular example I had used samurai wallet which is actually now seized and not usable because the creators were arrested by the feds for money laundering. However, when I was attempting to make my first one I just used a new address of mine that I hadn't used for anything yet.
If you can't use samurai wallet for any reason, you can import your wallet into other softwares and sign a message there.
I recommend you to use electrum.

Thank y'all very much. I do use electrum. The issue I'm having is it not allowing me to reset my 2fa even though it says it will take 8 days then nothing happens I've done it more times than I can count and it said I have to login from the area I last logged in which is in another state. I thought I had the secret key but it's saying it's wrong. Just a big old mess. Been driving me absolutely crazy. Is it possible for me to deposit into it again and sign the message that way? I apologize for the many questions. I feel like a 3rd grader when it comes to understanding and accumulating knowledge for this. I appreciate the patience
