I checked other sources and it was 12 substitutions, each team 6. It was a normal La Liga game and I think I have never seen that before in league games.
Raul Albiol suffered a concussion during the first half of the game. When this happens the team is allowed an extra 1 substitute to be used anytime in the game so no team will be forced to play with a player that has suffered a head injury. This is in addition to their allowed 5 subs at the start of the game. To balance the odds, the opposition team is also allowed an extra sub to their initially allowed 5, making it 6 from both teams and 12 in total.- Jay -
