I disagree with you about maximizing Pogba's talent. The guy is 32 years of age. There is no maximizing the talent. When a player is 32, you want to bring him on and immediately expect the best. But this unrealistic given his whole situation. What is Pogba's chance really to make it into the first line squad for Manchester United? I can't see how this would be possible and as long as he wants to earn a high salary, the risk-reward ratio is trash for any club. If he says he is going to play for 3.5 million a year, then maybe a club takes the risk and accepts that if is only sitting on the bench, it doesn't hurt financially.
Some players have best times in their career when they are old but very few players have such late shining career. Pogba is not such a player because he achieved many things when he was young and he lack of necessary professionalism to succeed in his old ages.
Some players were unknown when they were young, but became best scorers in a domestic league when they were very old, became star players too but I don't have such hope with Pogba. He loves party and with this personal hobby, his career will continue falling down more severely.

They are Capocannoniere winners when they were very old and many people did not know about Dario Hübner before a season he won Capocannoniere in big surprise.
