Is this true? Because according to some IT experts, using VPN can also significantly increase internet connection speed when the internet is interrupted. I myself have experienced this situation many times whenever the internet in my country has problems. I have used VPN like Express, and Nord and connected to recommended servers and it gives a better browsing experience. I have not tried using VPN for gambling sites but I have found that VPN does not always slow down our connection.

Also, I think the VPN service we choose will also affect the internet speed.

It depends, most of the time VPN is just use to hide your identity or simply do an anonymous browsing by using different IP. I’m not how can VPN increase the speed if the internet source itself has a capped speed on your country.

The only time I experienced that VPN increased my browsing speed is when it bypassed the speed limit set by the ISP provider but in general the speed is already there, the ISP is just capping it on some internet promo.

So I’m not if VPN can bypass an original slow speed internet.
It seems that it cannot help to bypass slow Internet if your gadget, mobile phone or laptop itself shows that you have a slow connection speed to the network. I have never encountered such a situation when using a VPN would significantly increase the connection speed. But slowdown is certainly possible, but it is usually not very large.
I align with you, he might have mistaken the VPN for another thing else. Although we can't know every VPN, some might have added that as a point of selling through their adverts and actually having such a service regardless of whether it works or not. But this is rare and he would have done well if he could provide the kind of VPN operator with that service. I only know some separate programs/apps from VPN that claim they are internet speed boosters but I have never used them and I wonder how they will hack the service of the ISP to allocate more internet to their customer.
