The government's concern for its citizens in the regulation of gambling is very weak, as I think, in all countries with rare exceptions, those countries where gambling is prohibited by religion and tradition. In other countries, the lobby of business is too strong, which has huge profits from gambling, and the state also has good taxes from these profits. For these reasons, the legislature in most cases even formally approaches strict regulation and does not really do it. The struggle of interests of business and the population in this case is definitely on the side of business. And legislators, of course, are also usually more on the side of business. Especially if you remember the increased taxation.
So you should not expect any serious changes in laws in large countries and at the local level.
Maybe that is because the government concern is only how they can make more and more money from all business in their country so they can enjoy the money and not distribute to their citizens. We already have seen happens in many countries but the other officials are not doing something because they are difficult to investigate these things. If more government officials can use the taxes with right and for their citizens, I am sure their economic country can grow and their citizens will have a better life. It needs a serious change from all people so they can see the change in their country especially to their low level people.
This is also connected with the moral qualities of those people who build their careers in politics. And now, in my opinion, nobility and the highest degree of dignity and honor are completely absent from modern politicians. They simply cannot be compared even remotely with the politicians who governed countries 100-150 years ago. Now, in the upper echelons of power, there are some completely random, worthless people. And unfortunately, they are the ones who decide issues that affect the lives of millions of people. And they decide them not at all based on the interests of these very people. And their moral ugliness allows them to do good for narrow groups of the population, to which they themselves belong, and they do not care at all about the rest of the population. And this morality of theirs is crossed out by some concept of "common sense". However, this sense is not common, it is simply filthy.
