Political dehumanization, simple as that, even "news" hosts and reporters have shamelessly used it in far right wing media and it always has an end: to politically divide and try to conquer part of the population for power. We have seen in Germany during the fascist period, we saw it in Cambodia with the communist regime and sadly we will continue to see it in the United States unless people remember the USA is a nation build by migrants and continues to need migrants to grow.
If the far right was actually willing to make America great again and "give back" the country to their "original/actual" inhabitants, then millions of European descent voters would have no problem to move to Europe and leave their homes for natives (who were slowly and methodically stripped away for their land through the history of the USA).
This whole string of news would not be of any importance for Fox and Newsmax if those inmigrants were from Ireland and were working as hard as those Haitians. We both know what the difference would be.
Yes some politicians and media outlets treat migrants is alarming. They deny migrants humanity to divide people and gain power which can have devastating effects. We hav seen this before in Nazi Germany and Cambodia where it led to brutal persecution and atrocities. It is shocking to see this happening in US where migrants are blamed for societal problems. But US was built by migrants and their contributions drive growth and prosperity. There is clear double standard in how migrants are treated based on their background. And you are right migrants from Ireland might not face same hostility as those from Haiti.
