CAF just announced the last shortlist For Men’s Player Of The Year Award and the obvious two names which are favourite are;
Ademola Lookman (Nigerian & Atalanta) and Victor Boniface (Nigeria & Bayern Leverkusen)
But there's also Brahim Diaz. (Moroccan & Real Madrid) too which is shocking to me because I didn't see him do anything at the last AFCON. People are saying that it's Madrid's PR that is making him be among the last 3 shortlist but what do you guys think and who is winning it. Who do you think deserve the award based on statistics and not favourism
Everyone knows who the winner will be, Ademola Lookman is the favorite to win the award because he performed better than the two last season. Based on individual performances Lookman was better but Diaz was more successful being part of Real Madrid he didn’t participate much especially in European competitions but he was part of the team too.
Victor Boniface also had an amazing performance last season leading Leverkusen to there first Bundesliga title and also to the Europa League final even though they lost to Atlanta. He played an important role in the team success last season but with all this can he be considered ahead of Lookman and Diaz?
I think Lookman is winning the Award, he deserves it if it’s based on performance and not favoritism.
