Ghana has not won a game in three fixtures and are third in their group table. The team captain Mohammed Kudus put an apology out on his Twitter account and says he is sorry for the poor performance of the Ghana Black Stars in the AFCON tournament so far. It’s strange to see this kind of behavior from a player especially a team captain. Do you think Ghanaians will appreciate the sentiment coming from Mohammed Kudus?
Ghana performance this year is very bad. And the worst part of it all was the match between Ghana and Nigeria Republic. Ghana could not scored one goal in that Match and that was a very big disgrace to the team. Just like Nigeria was beating by Benin Republic in the World Cup Qualifiers. But one thing I understand from this is that they understand their mistake and quickly apologized to their fans and good wishers. Look at Libya is proud of themselves.

With this apology their next match they will do well to impress the fans. Ghana Black Stars were very good in football and anytime when Ghana wanted to play with Nigeria super Eagles I used to fear them because they were good but things have changed. Though poor performance teams in those days can do well now if they have good players. Niger Republic has not qualified for any AFCON so drawing or beating by them is a bad omen.
Like Nigeria, Ghana is a football nation. I’m highly disappointed in Ghana’s performance in this tournament. It’s a shame we are not going to see the infamous Nigeria - Ghana rivalry in this year’s AFCON. They denied us that precious banter. I don’t think Ghana will be qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, what will they be going there for if they can’t they compete against other teams in the continent.
