Hello Dogemone community and miners!

We are excited to announce a major upgrade to the Dogemone network! 🎉 As we continue to prioritize decentralization and network security, we are transitioning from the CryptoNight algorithm to our new Alt Signed Proof-of-Work (PoW) mechanism.

🔑 What’s New? 🔑
Alt Signed Proof-of-Work (PoW):

Dogemone is moving away from CryptoNight and introducing Alt Signed PoW, a custom Proof-of-Work algorithm designed to enhance decentralization and resist botnets and mining pools. This transition will occur at block height 92,000.
Alt Signed PoW requires miners to sign their block header data with their private keys, ensuring that only the miner who solves the block receives the reward. This mechanism makes mining non-outsourceable, strengthening the security and integrity of the network.
No Mining Pools:

With Alt Signed PoW, mining pools are not supported. This means all miners will be solo mining, ensuring a more decentralized and fair distribution of block rewards.
The network will benefit from miners having direct control over their rewards, eliminating the risks associated with centralization of hashrate in large pools.
Run Nodes with --fee-address:

If you run a Dogemone node using the --fee-address option, you can earn a small portion of the transaction fees processed by your node. This incentivizes node operators to support the network while earning a bit from the transactions they help facilitate.
Block Reward Distribution:

90% of the block reward will continue to go to solo miners.
10% of the block reward will go to the developer fund.
Node operators can earn from transaction fees by running with the --fee-address option.
💻 How to Prepare for the Transition 💻
The hard fork will happen at block height 92,000, and we urge all miners and node operators to prepare for the upgrade.

Steps to prepare:

Update Your Node:

Please ensure that you are running the latest Dogemone node software. You can download it from our GitHub: Download Latest Release
Solo Mining:

Since mining pools are not supported with Alt Signed PoW, solo mining will be the primary method for earning block rewards. Ensure you are running the Dogemone daemon to participate.
Run Nodes with --fee-address:

For node operators, you can earn from transaction fees by running your node with the --fee-address option, adding an extra incentive to support the network.
Why Alt Signed Proof-of-Work? 🤔
We believe that Alt Signed PoW is the future of Dogemone. By requiring miners to sign blocks with their private keys, we are moving toward a more decentralized and fair mining ecosystem. This system is designed to reduce the influence of large mining pools and botnets, giving individual miners the chance to thrive.

💻 How to Mine Dogemone 💻

Follow these simple steps to start mining Dogemone (DME) and earn rewards:

Download the Wallet and Node:
Get the latest version of Dogemone from our releases page.

Generate a Wallet Address:
Use simplewallet to generate a new wallet address. This will be your receiving address for mined DME.

Run a Node:
Start the Dogemone daemon by running the following command:

./dogemoned --rpc-bind-ip 0.0.0.0 --rpc-bind-port 53000

Start Mining:
Once your wallet is connected to the node, enter start_mining in the wallet. Mining will begin, and you'll start receiving your DME rewards directly into your wallet!

🚀 Roadmap 🚀
