This story is truly heartbreaking, knowing that a 72-year-old woman lost her entire life savings and inheritance, totaling $224,000, to crypto scammers.
Maybe I will sound a little insensitive, but the mental capacity of this woman should also be examined here. For 70 years (ok, a little less work-functional) you save, give up certain things in life and then just like that you decide to invest everything in something you know nothing about?? We are talking about an adult with 72 years of experience.
Plus, what the hell kind of investment did she imagine, it's not like she has her whole life ahead of her.
Anyway, I always feel sorry for the victim of fraud.
Plenty of people at this age are getting scammed, and I feel a bit sorry for them because they aren't as sharp as they once were.
However, I don’t feel sorry for people aged 20-50 who get scammed in the same way, even though the police constantly warn about these types of scams.
