Not really, there were few cryptocurrency launched before Bitcoin https://www.investopedia.com/tech/were-there-cryptocurrencies-bitcoin/

Bitcoin was the first truly decentralized cryptocurrency thanks to Proof of Work.

As for the "Altcoin" - it's just a term to describe any other project made after Bitcoin.
