I will make it short and sweet for you, only two things: the pro is if the token has a usecase, and the con is if the token has no usecase.
Everything depends on usecase and what it can contribute to the community, so if you're thinking of buying a token in its presale, your only assignment is to check for usecase; if it has a usecase then that's favorable for you, and if you did not check the usecase, then you will suffer the consequences, and that's the con.
