Not all VPNs help us increase our internet speed and people are right when they say that most VPN usage will slow down our internet. But there are some cases where VPN can help us speed up access to certain websites. I am not an IT expert and I did not just hear it from others, I experienced it firsthand. There were times when my country's international internet cable line had problems which slowed down the internet speed a bit and using a VPN helped me solve the problem.

The current VPNs I am using are Express and Nord VPN, both of which are paid VPNs. In my opinion, using Express and accessing the recommended servers will improve internet speed somewhat but Nord does not.

VPN decreases latency and ping. I wanted to cloud stream one Playstation game via PS Premium packet. Since their servers aren't in my region, I had to connect to other servers but my ping was high. Then I downloaded many VPNs and NordVPN was the only one that let me to play on servers because it lowered my ping and gave me a stable high speed connection.

Btw I didn't know that ISP was throttling your internet speed when you were using too much bandwidth because I never had that problem. Even before optics internet, when we had a DSL internet, Warez websites were popular locally and every website admin and moderator was downloading and uploading gigabytes of files on uploading websites with website name as prefix on the file name. Even during that time, there was no internet throttling locally.
Today, people still use torrent websites to download games and movies and still no throttling. It's strange that developed countries experience that restriction from their ISPs.
