What do you guys think, is it the right step? What will the government lose or gain? What will the citizens lose? Will the closed websites cooperate? Many might want to take their business elsewhere as they like to operate where the regulations are weak.
The title made it seem like as if Brazil just randomly decided to close 2000 gambling sites for no reason but they actually closed these gambling platforms because they didn’t adhere to the rules. Despite some of these platforms being huge having to sponsor some big teams, they didn’t comply to the regulations set by the Brazilian government. Thus it’s just fair that they get closed down.
Some would still have the opportunity to open once they comply with the rules. Like you said, this shows how serious the government is about being strict towards their rules and regulations. If they were to cut one platform some slack, they would have to do it to everyone else. So better to be strict and close as many as they see fit.
Yes, that’s right. Brazil did all that for a reason and that is because many of these online gambling platforms do not comply with the rules in the country and another reason is because many Brazilians are addicted to gambling which threatens social welfare.
So, Brazil blocked 2 thousand online gambling sites. Those are actually illegal online gambling sites because of the lack of implementation of gambling sector regulations in the country. So it is very natural for Brazil to make regulations to tighten the rules on gambling again. Brazil took this step following the increasing concerns about gambling addiction, especially among the lower and middle classes who are vulnerable to this problem. This step aims to regulate and tax gambling companies, while protecting society from the risks of gambling and other negative impacts caused by online gambling.
