Are you sure orbot doesn’t slow down the network? I know I have downloaded it on my device when I wanted to access tor on mobile phone but I didn’t use it for VPN purposes though.

Edit:

I just tried it and it’s still the same as other VPN I’ve tried - it’s still slow.

Yeah, the tor network isn't known for fast speeds-- orbot utilize our phone's vpn function and routes our traffic to tor network. You're also more likely to encounter captchas while in tor though it offers much better privacy than regular VPNs as a tradeoff.

If you want the best speed while masking your IP, paid VPN is the way to go-- from a reputed provider. But if you don't have much use case for VPNs, I'm not sure it's a worth enough purchase for ya.

Tor is not a good VPN for me and I've been having consistent small Internet anytime I tried using it. Tor has been knows and a reliable free VPN app to use but I don't think it works for everybody.  Orbot has been a good VPN that has interesting functions and it's easy to use with fast internet speed compared to Tor that could work for a while and starts misbehaving anyhow allowing me to wait for too long before it loads. Maybe so users might find Tor as a good and fast VPN but I think this is mostly based on the region. There are some regions that tends to have slow VPN internet connection even though they are using 5G network at high speed.
