What do you guys think, is it the right step? What will the government lose or gain? What will the citizens lose? Will the closed websites cooperate? Many might want to take their business elsewhere as they like to operate where the regulations are weak.

As much as governments insist on saying that the main reason for regulation is to protect people, we know that the truth is always to collect more taxes.

However, I see this regulation in Brazil as a good thing, since we are one of the countries that bet the most in the world. Several websites started to display their advertisements indiscriminately, without providing any support to their users or complying with laws that protect people. So, although there are some injustices, in general the regulation came at a good time.

Some rules, however, will only come into effect in 2025 and one of them is the prohibition of the use of credit cards in betting, something that I think is super valid and that in fact helps to protect people.
