For the Lakers, it was a breath of fresh air to see them having this kind of chemistry in the game. Of course all credit should be given to JJ Reddick as it seems he had that talent to really lead and coach the Lakers and most likely players believing in their new system.
That’s very evident from the last three games they’ve won. What I like about them now is that when they're down, they don’t give up easily. And when they're up and the opponent makes a big run, they don’t just crumble. This shows they have the composure to win and trust each other. Davis has been a significant factor, and their current play is really benefiting him. Not to mention, their defense has improved tremendously as well.
Yes, it's a stark contrast from last season under Ham, when they are down, hard for them to make a comeback like they did against a very good team in Sacramento. Usually they will just crumble and will not have that energy to go and chase.
But in this season, the energy is vibrant, and I like the move to give more time for Hayes to play the center role although we have seen the he is being bullied by the stronger Sabonis. Nevertheless, it gives AD some breathing time in the bench and so in the final stretch, he has the energy, and we see that he drains a very important three to give them a good separation.
