Unknown exchanges like Graviex probably thrive on unknown coins. They've got cheaper, perhaps even free, listing fee, lenient admission process, and so on, the exact things unknown projects need. But being highly dependent on unknown coins means having less activities and low volume. People who sign up there are probably forced to do so precisely because of those unknown coins, OP included most likely.
Most small exchanges that were friendly to 'unknown' altcoins are slowly shutting down. One could conclude that the time of small altcoins has passed and it will be increasingly difficult for them to position themselves on large exchanges. The amount of trading is not enough for some services to live only from the trading fee, plus their value is constantly decreasing.
meme and other tokens that come through the big exchange token offering have taken over this part of the market. Unfortunately, I don't see how some smaller exchanges could take a serious place if they are based on other altcoins.
