My only reason, to impress other people.
There are only three things that receives loved unconditionally, one is women, second is children and the last one is dogs. I, as a man, must have everything especially money in order to be loved.
Even I don't really like to sacrifice everything to make money, but as a man, I'm forced to do that.
I've sacrificed my time, my happiness, my energy, my friends, my moral, etc just to earn as much as possible.
Brutally honest; D.
The need for affiliation is probably the most powerful motivator among the needs for achievement, power, and affiliation (McClelland). Different individuals try to compensate differently based on the availability of specific needs in their lives. Why do you want to impress others? may be to have a stature in their eyes, which is linked with achievement and power.
I like the way you simplified (philosophized) your primary factors of motivation.
