Well, when you look at the amount of money CSW took from the people who he convinced that he was the real Satoshi then you can see why other people would want to give it a shot. You don't need a lot of people, just enough so you can make some money and then go on to your next scam.

Oh and everyone who want's to take a minute don't forget to ~ Master Ledger in your trust settings and leave some negative feedback. With a little luck they will go crawl back under their rock and leave here.

Until this very day I wonder why he managed to convince supposedly so many smart and educated people fell for him. When I was new to crypto, I didn't understand a lot of things but just reading CW made my brain trigger so many red flags. Nothing to do with crypto just the general scam alert red flag alarm that made me stay away.

But your right in the end it is about greed, that makes you hear the alarm but just agree to get fooled anyway.

even from knowing who Satoshi is, a man or a group of people, - what would happen to BTC itself in the long run?

Nothing would happen. I read a Peter Todd quote a few weeks ago after the fake documentary named him. I can't find it now, something along the lines of, "spent many years reading the source code to understand Bitcoin. Bitcoin is that published code, it is not the original developer's person"

That's a terrible paraphrase. If someone can link me Todd's original, I'd be grateful

Did he say it in the documentary or he told to some reporter? I'm interested too, tried Googling but didn't find this. I like the the terrible passphrase idea.

The source code reveals zero about the person, the white paper, to me is closer to the character than even his forum posts. We all post in different moods. I have seen some posts I did so cringe. I was in a bad place lol
