It's 4-1 now. Shambolic performance from Villa in the second half. Their mentality was fully destroyed after Tottenham's first goal. They're worsening as their RB gets exploited by Tottenham.
Their players made too many mistakes. They made too many touches, dribbled slowly, and did not pass the ball right away. Also, starting four midfielders made their build-up so slow. It's obvious their strategy 4-4-2 is not working in modern football.
I can’t say that this is a logical and expected outcome of the game (especially with such a large score), but I see a certain logic. If Aston Villa had won they would have been in third place, literally 2 points behind City. Tottenham would have fallen too low in turn. Roughly speaking, this result brought things back to the average (as usually happens). The only thing left to wait for is for Nottingham Forest to slow down, haha.
