A good businessman can and should make the most out of everything. He sees an opportunity and makes sure that he can make profit out of it. With the holidays fast approaching, here are some small businesses I think a lot of people can easily venture into for extra income this holiday season.
Last winter I was shopping and at a market, I met a colleague from work... every winter he goes to various markets and events, and sells winter trinkets (balloons, sparklers, decorations), souvenirs, and so on. We talked a bit, he told me that last year he barely covered his expenses and that this winter he probably won't even cover them. He said it was his last time and he wouldn't do it again.
Today, many people order everything online, and maybe that's why some small sellers are suffering. Anyway, what I want to say is that it is not that easy to be a businessman, and not everyone can do it. It's easy to talk, but someone needs to take a step and risk money (which they may not have and have to borrow to get started). After that first obstacle comes the second one, you have to display and present it all somewhere (maybe more expenses), while you wait for the sale to start (maybe days, when you don't work and the expenses accumulate).
And in the end, you might succeed, maybe not... just like gambling, you never know until you try.
