From my perspective, it’s best not to pay attention to what others think or say. Gambling is a sensitive topic, and people won’t spare you from criticism, even if you try to show them you’re playing responsibly. Maybe they’ve seen bad examples in their lives and hold certain biases, so whatever you do, explain, or show...nothing will change.

Gambling aside, have good page of what people can read about you, life is not just about gambling all the time, there are days you don't gamble and might just be having time with people but because your way doesn't align with them, they might not want to associate or connect with you. Study where you are think very well of what people around you think about you, if they don't like what you do, there are ways you can do it and you will still be respected.

I have this guy that gamble for living and when I say gamble for living, he has nothing than gambling and believe me, anytime people have some information to share and some beneficial things, they don't share with him because they think he is not serious about his life but in his own context of life, he is serious and he thinks gambling is the only way to make it but other people don't see it like that, this is why what other people thinks about you matters.
