Now that there is a US spot bitcoin ETF, bitcoin is no longer considered shady or obscure.
You need to wait in until the next 2 years where it's a bear season for Bitcoin, Bitcoin price can down more than 50% than it's ATH, it's the time to see the public perception with Bitcoin. There might be a company choose to delist Bitcoin ETFs, who knows right?

So you think that bitcoin was shady before bitcoin spot ETF was approved in the United States? That is not true. There was nothing shady about bitcoin. Also its price is not easy to manipulate because of its huge marketcap. Bitcoin had over $1 trillion marketcap before bitcoin spot ETF was approved in the United States. How was it shady?
Before ETFs, was BTC considered "shady" for big entities, though (institutions, etc.)?  Roll Eyes I didn't catch the moment when it happened myself and the mood in the media at that time, however, I wonder..
AFAIK US never ban Bitcoin, they start from no regulation, then they categorize Bitcoin as a property and now they legalizing Bitcoin ETFs.

It was never been shady in the first place, @OP is lack of research.
