Yes, today will be the first match of ODI series between Bangladesh vs Afghanistan. Bangladesh lost badly in the last two Test series because of the failure of the Bangladeshi batsmen. Bangladesh batsmen have not been able to perform well against India and South Africa. However, Soumya Sarkar, Tanzid Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad, Towhid Hridoy have been added to the Bangladesh squad in this series, so hopefully Bangladesh's batting line will improve against Afghanistan. Anyway, I don't expect much from Bangladesh team, because if Bangladeshi batsmen luckily do well in 1 match, they are seen to bat badly in 10-12 matches. Bangladesh can do well in this series as it is an ODI format. Now let's see how Bangladesh performs in today's match.
Today is the first game between Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Another series has started between them. The first game is being played at Sharjah.
Afghanistan were batting first and at the start of their innings they had the loss of one wicket of their main player, the one and only Rahmanullah Gurbaz. He made just 5 runs and then was sent back to the pavilion by Taskin Ahmed. I had very hopes with him but he has not done what I wanted. After his wicket, two more back to back wickets were gone of Rehmat Shah and Azmatullah Omarzai. However later the game was steadied by Mohammed Nabi who made 84 runs. But still, they were struggling at the time and ended up making only 235 runs.
If we talk about the Bangladesh bowling then that was great. Bangladeshi bowlers did not allow Afghanistan batsmen to score high runs and in the full innings, we have seen that Afghanistan was struggling very badly in the game. In the start only two bowlers Ahmed and Mustafizur Rehman picked wickets. Till the first five wickets, there was the magic of Ahmed and the second one mustafizur Rahman, they both did excellent bowling. Ahmed was taking wickets but also for giving away runs while on the other side his partner was just picking wickets and controlling runs too and all the other bowlers making pressure on the Afghanistan batting line up as well.
I think Bangladesh can really win this match if they do not lose wickets in their chase. I got 1.37 odds for Bangladesh and i think i would win this bet quite easily.
