I would never recommend quitting job or selling house and that sort of advices. The backing of the job and a stable income is a cushion for the person in question, those who dont understand this have a poor idea of managing finances.
In the period after getting a big win the ecstatic phase needs to be passed away in calmness, otherwise the money will be lost. That is the most vulnerable period when rash and idiotic decisions are made like the one above.
Similarly quitting the gambling habit should be looked in after a big win because this is a redemption attempt and it should not go in vain.
