It’s not as a easy as it may sound, addiction is not something you can just get rid of just by reading some threads or things people did that worked for them - it’s going to take dedication and discipline from the person who’s involved.

To the first part--reading anything online won't even come close to helping you overcome any kind of addiction (though there are things that might give you inspiration or point you in the right direction).  And discipline only goes so far when it comes to addiction; I would say that getting help is much more important.  My experience in the past has been with drug addicts and alcoholics, and I haven't dealt with many problem gamblers....but the behavior is much the same, and the addiction works through the same pathways in the brain.

In any case, props to OP for calling himself out.  That doesn't excuse anything he did or absolve him of his debts, but this kind of confessional post isn't often seen on bitcointalk, and perhaps it can help others.  In any case OP, I hope you figure a way to break the cycle of gambling addiction and eventually achieve financial stability.  I mean that with all sincerity, because I know how awful it is to feel like there's something or someone else in charge of your actions, i.e., you want to stop a compulsive behavior but the harder you try, the more you fail despite your best efforts.

Good luck.
