I've seen entire countries where almost everyone seems to live that way. I think it was The Millionaire Next Door that wrote: most people can either be rich, or look rich. Not many people can do both. Which means, if someone looks like they have plenty of money to buy anything they want, they're probably not rich. And someone who doesn't show off material wealth may have accummulated quite some savings. I like it when people underestimate me, especially if it works in my favour later on.
A lot has been said already, and posts online can't change a lifestyle, but allow me to highlight some parts:
This is a BIG mistake.
Snip
Be honest (to yourself): how likely are you to want to "double" that money gambling once you've accumulated some money?
Good luck.
Honestly, it’s all about that feeling of being a student among many whose wealthy families cover their expenses allowing them to spend on good food, expensive clothes, and cars without any effort. While that’s not the case for me, Im living on my own, covering all my expenses to not appear in need so no one feels sympathy for me. I believe there is a big difference between someone who can focus mainly on his studies in a stable life and someone like me, who has to put in extra effort and hard work just to achieve a normal life.
I never want to look rich, maybe I’m trying to be someday like anyone else . but I’m fully aware of how hard that is when my only job is online. My income from this job is about the average salary in our country and now I will need to save most of it to pay off my debts.
Given my current situation, my only focus for at least the next three months is paying off these debts. In the meantime, I will need to find an additional job to cover my daily expenses. otherwise, Im in big shit. That’s why I know I have absolutely no desire to gamble.
Thank you for your understanding and advices!
