That is terrifying story. Sharing information about your cryptocurrency savings can put you in danger. Person was kidnapped by family member who knew they had a lot of cryptocurrency and kidnapper demanded Bitcoin as ransom. This shocking incident shows why it is crucial to keep your financial information private. To stay safe remember keep your cryptocurrency holdings secret and do not share financial details with acquaintances or on social media and only discuss investments with trusted people and consider using anonymous online identities. Your safety is most important so be cautious and protect yourself from potential threats. Thankfully stolen funds were recovered and hopefully victim is safe.
Considering the number of crimes happening worldwide from those close to each other, I wouldn't recommend trusting anyone. We often think certain people around us are trusted and that we can share anything with them, but that isn't always right. Someone trying to be trustworthy and loyal around you might be doing that intentionally to gain your trust and stab you in your back. So, we should be cautious with people around us and never share confidential things with anyone.
The only people you can trust on this earth are probably your parents and then your spouse, and trust your spouse if only you know he/she is trustworthy because you have been together for years, and it should be easy for you to understand that when you are living together.
Never share anything about your finances and financial condition in public, anywhere, whether it's a family gathering, a public place, hanging out with friends, etc.
