In addition, there are a total of 24 places with the playoffs for the next round. All the “big” clubs are represented in these 24 places, followed only by the real underdogs like Sturm Graz or Girona, who wouldn't have been expected to have any chance of promotion either way.
Big teams will make this first round cut I'm sure even with this level of mediocre performances from the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal and even Man city, they would still make the cut. Where mediocre performances becomes a problem is when the competition gets closer to the finishing rounds.
