Here, a
person needs to be saved before he loses everything he has. I think a
temporary ban for a year will save him. I think he will have time to rest and regain his strength in a year.
It's not entirely useless to talk to addicted individuals if not there won't be recovering addicts and then the efforts of these agencies that are responsible for restoring normalcy to these ones would be wasted.
Suggesting a temp ban will only solve the issue of him coming into the forum, what about other places where he has the urge to gamble, what would you suggest? That they ban him from entering their casinos or what?
I think the reason the Op brought up his problem is so we could understand his situation and someone who has been in such a mess but got out could proffer a solution and if I'm to make any suggestions, that would be for the Op not just do the talk, but the work as well..the only advice that can help anyone who is knee deep in any problem is the one they give themselves. Find a therapist, go to meetings, anything that will help because it won't do if you just talk about your problem.
