Responsible gambling should come in handy here because in a twinkle of an eye, one $1000 can be used to stake, and before you know, it's gone.
Once he exhausts the $100, he should go on to play freerolls or any other game, but shouldn't touch his balance again.
By the way, the most responsible thing OP could do in this case should be to administer that whole one thousand deposit as those were his complete budget to gamble for the next ten months, or ten weeks (depending whether he meant he used 100$ monthly or weekly). That way, in theory he should not need to wager all the money at the same time for the sake of withdrawing and he would save the money intented to gamble for the next ten weeks/months. The only problem could be about how tight his current monthly budget would be, as he has got 900$ less than expected at the time being.
It would be kind of funny of somehow OP managed to gamble his way out of his problem and doubled his money at the moment of withdrawing.
